Most people want to believe rather than to know, to take for granted rather than to find out. (James Thurber)

Shame on Canada
Robin Long, a conscientious objectors who fled George W. Bush’s illegal war in Iraq, was not allowed to stay in Canada. Long has been sent back to the USA.
Robin Long, from Boise, Idaho, received his orders in March 2005 and left for Canada the following June, believing the war in Iraq was illegal. Long refused to fight in Iraq and is facing a General Courts Martial, the maximum penalty of such a trial is 20 years confinement.
From Vietnam to now, Canada has a proud and distinguished history of putting justice first, and allowing people of conscience to seek refuge in the country. That is obviously no longer the case. For a long time the USA has been able to control Great Britain from an oval office in Washington. Now it seems Canada has accepted to be controlled as well. Shame on Canada!
